Insights on AI, Business Travel & Leadership

Hello!

This is my first Blog.  About my self ….

After 27 years of experience in Technology field , I thought let me exercise my creative side , so trying my hand on the blog. My job took me all over the world,  though I am from India.  New York was the most visited place outside India.  Been to UK, Australia, Paris, Singapore.  Worked in Global Companies like IBM, Ran  Indian JV of MNC. Lastly tried my hand at entrepreneurship for last 3 years. Last 3 years have been most uncertain, eventful, educative and very relaxing.  Lot of work, Lot of creativity , passion but not so much money.  But enjoyed the experience thoroughly.

Now looking at creating something new.  Haven’t yet found my next venture. still looking… I believe crisis is mother of invention.  Looks like current financial crisis will stay long and therefore will lead to lot of innovations.  Opportunity to innovate, I believe  is the positive side of this  otherwise gloomy environment.

My other interests are traveling ( I love driving around), crossword, reading books.

Off late ( last 3-4 years), I got spiritually inclined.  I am reading some good spiritual books.. Osho, Eckhart Tolle are my favorites.  Trying to learn how spiritual practice can improve productivity and creativity of people. Common notion is that if you want to pursue spirituality, you got to be 45+ in age and should be willing to leave pursuit of your economic activity.  Which is not correct.

I strongly believe that spirituality can make people more happier, creative and effective in their lives and jobs even younger people.  Organizations can benefit a lot.    However Spirituality is more an individual  exercise,  I don’t know if there is a repeatable and scalable model available for masses (organizations) to follow with respect to business excellence.  But with current surge of interest in spirituality even by young people; ..  Look at the gathering at Sri Sri Ravishankar’s discourses  …most of the audience is young ( less than 40 yrs); It may be worth exploring…May that could be a next big idea!! ( probably it already is)

    Hi, Rajeev:

    Glad to read your blog.

You would be unable to recollect who I am. I was a rookie at IBM while you headed the Delivery/Y2K center in B’lore. I worked out of the same Presidency office on St.Marks Rd. The Presidency days at IBM was quite memorable indeed.

I got through to your profile on LinkedIn via Nagendra Venkaswamy, Sanjay Anandaram, Firdaus and many others.

    Wishes,
    Srini
